At our Polish pottery warehouse in Seguin, Texas, we’ve fully embraced the rich blend of Texan and European traditions. One of our favorite ways to combine the two is through baking, and there’s nothing more quintessentially Texan than a homemade peach cobbler. We love to bake and serve this in one of our beautiful “Peach Spring Daisy” bakers, a piece that brings elegance to any table. Whether using fresh Fredericksburg peaches or frozen ones, this Texas Peach Cobbler is a warm, comforting dessert that captures the essence of Southern hospitality.

Texas Peach Cobbler Recipe:

Cook Time: 45 minutes
Servings: 8

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 cups sliced peaches (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon turbinado sugar

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Pour the melted butter into a 10 or 9-inch baking dish.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined. Gradually stir in the milk until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
  4. Pour the batter evenly over the butter in the baking dish, but be sure not to stir it.
  5. Toss the sliced peaches with the cinnamon and ginger until they’re well coated. Gently layer the peaches on top of the batter.
  6. Bake the cobbler uncovered for 40 minutes, then sprinkle turbinado sugar on top and bake 5 more minutes or until the top is golden and the edges are slightly browned.
  7. Serve the cobbler warm, straight from the oven, and enjoy!
